Uppsala University
Founded in 1477, Uppsala University is Sweden’s oldest university. Its central building is listed as part of Swedish architectural heritage.
Together with the adjacent park, they were constructed according to Theodor Holmgren’s drawings between 1877- 87. With the goal to improve and provide the absolute best experience for public, students and staff, AIX was appointed lead consultant for major restoration, refurbishment, and modernization of Uppsala University’s main building. The largest and most important meeting point in Uppsala is now even more accessible, attractive and welcoming, well equipped for the future with its cultural heritage intact.
